Cómo Reconocer un Perfume Auténtico

Cómo Reconocer un Perfume Auténtico

Why authenticity matters

An authentic perfume is a chemical performance: top, heart, and base notes unfold over hours on the skin, balanced by molecules that took the master perfumer years to dial in. A counterfeit imitates only the opening — the first ten minutes — then collapses into alcohol and synthetic musk. You aren't paying for the smell of the first spray; you're paying for the next eight hours.

The six checkpoints

  1. Batch code. Every authentic bottle has a 4-to-8-character batch code stamped on the box bottom and the bottle base. The two must match. Look it up on a free batch-code checker (checkfresh.com works for most luxury houses).
  2. Cellophane wrap. Genuine wrap is tight, with a single straight seam. Counterfeits use a thicker plastic that wrinkles at the corners.
  3. Weight. A 100 ml authentic bottle weighs between 280 g and 360 g depending on glass thickness. A fake is usually 30–50 g lighter.
  4. Spray quality. The atomiser should emit a fine, even mist on the first pump. A coarse jet, dribbling, or audible clicking is a red flag.
  5. Box printing. Real cartons use crisp deep printing — text edges look sharp under a phone macro. Fakes show fuzziness, off-register colour, or a slightly different font weight.
  6. Smell evolution. Spray on a paper strip and wait 30 minutes. An authentic perfume will have shifted phase — drier, woodier, or warmer. A fake stays linear.

What Vashboo guarantees

Every bottle sold through Vashboo is traceable: batch code, supplier invoice, customs entry, and final inspection are all logged. If anything in that chain breaks, the bottle never reaches our shelves. That's the difference between buying from a luxury house in Dubai and buying from an open marketplace.
